A Comparison of Constant and Variable Amplitude Command Shaping Techniques for Vibration Reduction

چکیده
We investigate the characteristics of constant-amplitude input shapers for robust time-optimal maneuvers of exi-ble structures. Trends in the timing of the shaper impulses are shown as a function of the system damping constant and move distance. The insensitivity to modeling errors, time-optimality, amount of vibration caused during maneuvers, and high frequency excitation of these shapers are then discussed and compared with some variable-amplitude input shapers.

Nonlinear Vibration and Stability Analysis of Beam on the Variable Viscoelastic Foundation
The aim of this study is the investigation of the large amplitude deflection of an Euler-Bernoulli beam subjected to an axial load on a viscoelastic foundation with the strong damping. In order to achieve this purpose, the beam nonlinear frequency has been calculated by homotopy perturbation method (HPM) and Hamilton Approach (HA) and it was compared by the exact solutions for the different bou...
متن کاملA Comparison of Input Shaping and Time-optimal Flexible-body Control
Input shaping is a method of reducing residual vibrations in computer-controlled machines. Shaped command profiles are generated by convolving a sequence of impulses, an input shaper, with the desired command signal. The shaped command profile will move the system without residual vibration. The performance of several types of input shapers is compared to the time-optimal flexible-body control ...
متن کاملComparison of Command Shaping Methods for Reducing Residual Vibration
This paper compares command shaping techniques for controlling residual vibration of high-performance machines. Input shaping generates vibration-reducing shaped commands through convolution of an impulse sequence with the desired command. Because input shaping has similarities to notch filtering, it is compared here with a variety of FIR and IIR filters. Several types of input shapers are pres...
متن کاملEffects of Geometric Nonlinearity on Stress Analysis in Large Amplitude Vibration of Moderately Thick Annular Functionally Graded Plate
This paper deals with the nonlinear free vibration of thick annular functionally graded material plates. The thickness is assumed to be constant. Material properties are assumed to be graded in the thickness direction according to a simple power law distribution in terms of the volume fractions of the constituents. The formulations are based on the first-order shear deformation plate theory and...
متن کاملVibration Reduction Using Multi-Hump Extra-Insensitive Input Shapers
Input shaping is a method for reducing residual vibrations in computer controlled machines. Vibration is eliminated by convolving an input shaper, which is a sequence of impulses, with a desired system command to produce a shaped input. The shaped input then becomes the command to the system. Requiring the vibration reduction to be insensitive to modeling errors and system nonlinearities is cri...
